A Pair of Shoes - 1888

This piece is by Vincent van Gogh a famous Dutch painter. Oil on canvas, I choose this image because of the great detail that is shown. The colors used are mainly of the brown family, with white used to highlight and black used to show the grunginess of the shoes. The image also utilizes shading to show a shadow. With all we have been exposed to thus far, this image holds a little of everything that we have learned about.
