Mediterranean Landscape

The title of this picture is Mediterranean Landscape, made by Pablo Picasso in 1952. Based on information obtained researching the painting and Picasso, the media used is watercolor paint. Picasso makes good use of color in the painting by using warm colors, like red and yellow, in order to bring the houses to the foreground. He also uses blue, which is a cool color, in order to place the ocean and sky in the background. The painting is also made using mostly just the three primary colors; red, yellow and blue, and not many secondary or tertiary colors. One thing I like about the painting is that the perspective is different in many parts of the painting. Because of this the painting has a unrealistic, abstract view of a real landscape.
