"Race"ing Sideways

This piece is called "Race"ing Sideways by Nikolai Buglaj. The media used in this piece are graphite and ink. This piece incorporates the element of value. This drawing contains thirteen runners who seem to be racing. From left to right the runners' skin tone changes from white to black and their clothing gradually changes from black to white. I liked this drawing because it showed a dual (inversed) value scale and created the illusion of people running a race which seemed interesting and caught my attention.
