Portrait of a Lady

This work of art is titled "Portrait of a Lady", and it was painted around 1450 by the Italian painter Paolo Uccello.

It is fascinating to me due to the fact that Leonardo da Vinci (who painted the Mona Lisa from my last post) was from the Renaissance movement. So I researched painters from earlier on in the Renaissance and found Uccello, who was born in 1397, 55 years before da Vinci was born.

The painting can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. I think it is interesting to know what paintings earlier in the Renaissance were like, as da Vinci was born in 1452, and the Renaissance took place in most artistic forms from the early 1300s to about 1600.
