This piece of artwork was done by Wayne Thiebaud in 1978. He called this piece the "Study for 24th Street Intersection." He used hatching and cross-hatching lines as well as he used the sense of light and dark to his piece. This piece was done on graphite paper. In order to show his sense of light and dark, he used darker shading using hatching and cross-hatching lines to the road to make his piece gradually lighten as the viewer from a darker shade to a lighter shade. I chose this piece because I like the way that Thiebaud used two different techniques, both the light and dark and the hatching and cross-hatching, to portray his work of art.
